Time for an all new episode of On the Mic Podcast with comedian and actor, David Koechner!
This is another mashup episode of the podcast with Christopher James' podcast, 'In Movie Nerds We Trust'. Christopher has been opening for David while he is performing in Salt Lake City, November 5-7 at Club at 50 West. Christopher and I have always loved Dave's work and decided it would be great to do another mashup episode with David as the guest.
David is best know for his work on Saturday Night Live, The Office, Anchorman and The Goldbergs. Currently David has the film, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse in theaters and Krampus that hits theaters December, 4th.
We had a great time talking with Dave about his early influences of comedy, collaborating on comedy with his son, how he joined Second City and iO, success in comedy, and so much more.
It was so great to be able to talk with David and learn so much from his comedy career. A huge Thank You to David Koechner for taking the time to sit down with us for another mashup of On the Mic and In Movie Nerds We Trust.
David still had 4 shows left at Club 50 West at 7:30 and 9:30, TONIGHT and tomorrow, Saturday November 7th. Tickets are just $15.

On today's episode of On the Mic Podcast I talked with comedian, Kristian Wong!
Kristina's new show "The Wong Street Journal" premieres at The REDCAT in Los Angeles November 12-15th. "The Wong Street Journal" tells Kristina's story as she left her comfortable life in the U.S. to experience a new life in Uganda, where she ultimately recorded a rap album became a Ugandan hip hop star.
I had a great time talking with Kristina about how she came up with the idea for "The Wong Street Journal", visiting Uganda, her recent appearance on 'The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore', how audiences have accepted her unique shows, studying at UCLA and so much more!
Kristina has created five solo shows and one ensemble show that have toured the U.S. and the UK. Kristina's most notable show was "Wong Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest", that looked at the high rates of depression and suicide amount Asian American Women, which has toured over 40 venues since 2006.

On today's episode of On the Mic Podcast I talked with comedian and podcaster, Barbara Gray!
I first met Barbara briefly at the Salt Lake Comedy Carnival a few years back, but this was the first time we really had a chance to sit down and talk. We recorded this episode at the Inner Sanctum at the Upright Citizens Brigade on Sunset in Los Angeles.
Barbara and I talked about growing up in Salt Lake City and making the move to Los Angeles, what inspires her comedy, studying at UCB, Lady to Lady Podcast, making a few videos with Comedy Central and so much more!
After the interview I we had the chance to see Barbara perform stand up at Meltdown that evening. It was great to see her perform some of her new material preparing for her upcoming shows. Barbara is such a great comic that you need to know!

On this episode of On the Mic I talked with comedian, podcaster and filmmaker, Kyle Clark!
Kyle is best known for his work on the Nerdist Podcast and Nerdist.com, as well as his podcast, 'This is Rad'. Kyle sat down with us in the tech room at the Nerdmelt Showroom at Meltdown Comics in LA.
Kyle has been doing stand up for over 5 years and currently runs the Nerdist Open Mic at Meltdown. I talked with Kyle about how his career started, running the open mic, learning from the Nerdist guests, how he started into filmmaking, horror films and so much more!
Kyle is getting ready to record his next special December 4th at Meltdown in LA. If you're out in LA, get out to his show. My friend Jesse Knight came out to LA with me and also joined us on this episode.

On todays episode of On the Mic podcast I sat down with musician Tyler Glenn!
Tyler is best known as the lead singer of the hit band, Neon Trees. I've known Tyler for several years and it was great to finally sit down with Tyler and catch up while he was in town for Salt Lake Comic Con. Neon Trees was part of Salt Lake Comic Con this year having their own panel at the event.
Tyler and I talked about how Neon Trees started, growing as a band, coming to terms with success, his experience coming out, touring the world and so much more.

To celebrate Salt Lake Comic Con starting this week, we've decided to post a bonus episode of On the Mic! Last week I was asked to guest host the 'In Movie Nerds We Trust' Podcast with special guest, from Radio From Hell and the GeekShow Podcast, Kerry Jackson!
The theme for this episode was 'Timeless Classics'. We talked about 3 of Kerry's favorite films, and three of the greatest classics of all-time, 'The Godfather, 'Citizen Kane', and the original 'Planet of the Apes'.
Thanks to Christopher James for asking me to guest host his show while Quinci was out of town. I had such a great time on the show again. Thanks for allowing us to post this as a bonus episode of the show.

On today's episode of On the Mic Podcast I sat down with comedian, Spencer King!
It was great to finally have Spencer make it on the show. The last time I had a chance to talk with Spencer was when he was a guest on My House on The Moon in early 2013.
It was great to be able to sit down and talk with comedy with Spencer and learn more about his writing process, learning from the comics he performs with and what has helped him craft his sets. Since the last time I talked with Spencer he became a father. It was great to talk with him about fatherhood and balancing his comedy career and family life.

This was the first time I had met Shayne and he was such a great guest on the podcast. I had seen Shayne's name all over the Salt Lake comedy scene over the last few months, as he was winning and placing in comedy competitions, and wanted to know more about Shayne's comedy and his process.
Shayne and I talked about the levels or "types of fun" that we experience in life, being new on the comedy scene, how he got his start, what keeps him progressing in comedy and so much more.

On this weeks episode of On the Mic I talked with Filmmaker and Improv Actor, Alex Watson.
I've seen Alex's film work all over online, and our paths have crossed at festivals over the last few years, but this interview was the first time we had ever met face to face.
I had an amazing time talking with Alex and learning more about his film and improv career. Alex and I talked about his films win at the Star Wars Celebration, how he started J-Wat Productions, ethics of being a filmmaker, meeting Robin Williams, and so much more.
