Episode 42 - LIVE from San Diego Comic Con and SDCC recap

On this weeks episode of On the Mic I at down with Austin Grant and recapped our time and live show at San Diego Comic Con! 

As many of you know we hosted a LIVE show at San Diego Comic Con. Unfortunately, the show somehow only recorded 8 minutes. We didn't want to lose out on sharing our San Diego Comic Con experience, so Austin and I recorded this episode to share our stories from San Diego. 

*The 8 minutes from our live show will be on at the end of the episode. 

In this episode Austin and I go through each day of Comic Con starting with Preview Night where we screened the new CBS Pilot for "Supergirl". We also talked about our time on the convention floor, the amazing panels we got to see, going to see The Meltdown, Nerdist Conival, Conan Bingo and so much more!

Huge Thank you to everybody at San Diego Comic Con for making us feel so welcome and making us feel like family. We had such an amazing time and can't wait to come back next year.

Episode 41 - April Richardson

On today's new episode I talked with comedian, April Richardson.

April brings her current stand up tour to Club 50 West in Salt Lake City this Sunday and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to talk with April about this upcoming tour, which is also designed to coincide with Morrissey's tour dates. 

I talked with April about how she came up with her tour concept, visiting San Diego Comic-Con, meeting our heroes, her Go Bayside! podcast and more. 

April is a regular guest on @midnight on Comedy Central as well as a former regular on Chelsea Lately. April can also be seen along side Chris Hardwick on the Funcomfortable tour throughout the rest of the year.

Episode 40 - Travis Tate Returns!

On this weeks episode comedian Travis Tate returns to On the Mic.

Travis is the first returning guest we've had at On the Mic. Travis is hosting a huge benefit show for the Road Home this week at WiseGuys Comedy in West Valley, Utah.

Travis and I had a chance to catch up and be able to talk about comedy, learning from other comics, what inspired him to set up the benefit show, understanding those with disabilities, Comic Con and so much more.

Travis and I both had the opportunity to spend time and talk with Tracy Morgan while he was in Salt Lake City last year. We talked about what we learned from the comedy legend and how great it was to learn from him. 

Travis has put together an incredible show for this benefit show for the Road Home. The show features some of the best comedy talent in Utah that you will not want to miss out on! The show is just $10 and it goes to a great cause.

Episode 39 - Chris Holifield

On todays episode I sat down with Chris Holifield from the I Am Salt Lake Podcast.

I have been waiting to have Chris on the show for a while now and I was glad we were finally able to make it happen. I've been on Chris' show "I Am Salt Lake" for a few episodes over the last year, but never had a chance to get him on my show. 

Chris and I talked about the short hiatus that "I Am Salt Lake" took and some of the new format the show has taken, including adding a co-host, Ryan Prince to the show. We also talked about how he would like to take I Am Salt Lake to new levels, marketing podcasts and engaging with fan on social media, Chris' experience with online dating, eating vegan/vegetarian and so much more.

It was great to finally get a chance to talk with Chris and find out what he has been up to over last year. If you haven't checked out I Am Salt Lake you are truly missing out. Episode 38 - Christian Pieper

On this weeks episode I had the great opportunity to talk with comedian, Christian Pieper.

Christian and I have seen each other over the years at the occasional open mic at WiseGuys Comedy, but we've never had the chance to talk comedy. I was glad that we were finally able to make this happen. 

Christian and I formally introduced ourselves to each other to kick off the episode. We talked about how Christian's career got started, developing a set, dealing with hecklers, a Twitter battle with Joe Rogan, comedy with his family and so much more.

I first connected with Christopher a little over two years ago through social media before finally meeting him last year at Salt Lake Comic Con.

Episode 36 - Jacob Leigh

On todays episode of On the Mic I talked with comedian, Jacob Leigh.

Some of you may remember Jacob as a guest on a show I use to co-host called My House on The Moon. It has been a few years since Jacob recorded that episode and I knew it was time to sit down with him again and see what's new since we last talked.

Jacob and I talked about Ninja Turtles, being day drunk at Sundance, performing stand up, cutting his beard, learning from majors comedians and so much more.

Episode 35 - Clawson

On this new episode of On the Mic I sat down with rap artist, Clawson.

I first got to know Clawson (aka Casey Clawson) almost two years ago. After making a mix tape a few years back, Clawson is set to release his new album, "Old Soul", this Friday, April 10th.

On this episode Casey and I talked about how he started writing rap, what inspires him to write, going through rehab and overcoming addiction, his message and so much more. The intro to this episode includes Clawson's new song, "Last Stand" featuring Atheist. 

In September I had the pleasure of Directing and Producing a music video for Clawson for his first single, "Learn Truth", that was nominated for Best Music Video at the Online Film Awards in LA, New York and Salt Lake City. Check it out on YouTube!

Jimmy Martin from Geek Show Podcast, Big Movie Mouth-Off, and the President of the Utah Film Critics joined us once again this year to make our picks. Many of you know Edward James Olmos from his Oscar nominated role as Jamie Escalante in 'Stand and Deliver', as well as his Golden Globe and Emmy winning role in Miami Vice, as well as roles Battlestar Galactica, Dexter and so many more. 

I talked with Edward about the new film 'Water &Power' that he Produced that is being released VOD on January 20th. Edward talked about the importance of the story behind 'Water & Power', and why they chose to make this movie available VOD. 

Edward and I also talked about his role in 'Stand and Deliver', the power of cinema, producing films, 'Dexter' and so much more. It was an honor to have Edward on the show and learn more about his career and the behind the scenes of 'Water & Power'
