I have been a fan of Kurt's stand up for a few years now and was thriller to have him on the show. 

I talked with Kurt about his upcoming Comedy Central Pilot "Gettin' Some Strange with Kurt Braunohler", his current charity project Roustabout that is helping raise money to bring goats and chickens to a village in Africa, Kurt's appearance on "Getting Doug With High", voicing characters on "Bob's Burgers" and so much more! 

Kurt recently jet skied from Chicago to New Orleans to help raise money for Roustabout.

Episode 26 - Richie T. Steadman

In this new episode of the podcast I talked with a hilarious man of many titles, Richie T. Steadman.

Richie is best known for his work as the Executive Producer of Radio From Hell in Salt Lake City. Richie is also the Founder of the Salt Lake Comedy Festival, Host of the new web show "Let's Get Real", Host of Meet the Bands Podcast, and the Cultural Hall Podcast. Aside from all of those jobs, Richie has also been my boss at Radio From Hell for the last several months. 

Richie and I always have great time around the studio and on location, so I figured it was time that we turned the mic's on and captured some of it. Richie and I talked a lot about how he started the Salt Lake Comedy Festival, his comedy background, flu toast, and so much more!

Episode 25 - Rachel Skarsten and Paul Amos; Lost Girl

We are LIVE from Salt Lake Fantasy Con! This is our first episode from Fantasy Con recorded in Downtown Salt Lake. In this episode I sat down with Rachel Skarsten and Paul Amos from the hit SyFy show, 'Lost Girl'! We talked about visiting Utah, filming the new season, Paul's new nickname, Rachel's special skill she developed on Lost Girl, Rachel's upcoming role in the much anticipated 'Fifty Shades of Grey' film, Fantasy Con, and more! 

My good friend and Producer Laura Smith from Mix 1079 joined me on this episode, as she is a huge fan of 'Lost Girl'.

Episode 24 - Anders Holm

Episode 23 - Jim O'Heir

In this new episode of On the Mic I sat down with comedic actor, Jim O'Heir!

Jim is best known for his role as Jerry on the hit NBC show 'Parks and Rec'. Jim and I talked about how he started his career in theatre, traveling the world and visiting Monte Carlo, what it takes to navigate a career in the television and film industry, the final season of 'Parks and Rec' and so much more. 

A huge Thanks to Jim O'Heir for taking the time out of his busy schedule to talk with me. It was great to get to know him and learn a little about what makes him such a great actor. If you haven't been watching Parks and Rec, or seen Jim's other work, you are missing out on a phenomenal and hilarious actor. 

A funny side note to this episode, if you listen closely you can hear one of my cats meowing in the background looking for the other cat. I usually don't let them in the studio while we record, but they were sleeping when we started so I didn't think it would hurt. One of them also decided to jump into a box mid episode. So listen for the random meows and cats faintly in the background here and there.

Episode 21 - Jordon Mazziotti

In this new episode of On the Mic I sat down with comedian, Jordon Mazziotti. 

In this episode I talked with Jordon about how he got started in comedy, what influenced him to become a comic, writing, family life and more. This was the first time Jordon and I had met in person. We have been Facebook and Twitter friends for almost a year, but never had a chance to talk. It was great to get to know Jordon better and learn more about his comedic process. 

Jordon and I also talked about his comedy blog, It's Always Funny in SLC. I have loved reading this blog that is full of interviews with great comics. In association with the blog, Jordon has put together the It's Always Funny in SLC Comedy Showcase that will be at Keys on Main in Salt Lake City on May 25th featuring some of the best comedians that Salt Lake has to offer.

Episode 20 - Omar Dorsey

On todays new episode of On the Mic I talked with actor, Omar Dorsey! 

Omar is best known for his work in film and television for his roles in Django Unchained, The Blind Side, Roadtrip, Eastbound and Down, Rizzoli and Isles, Castle, Bones, and currently on the hit Fox show, Rake. 

Omar and I talked about our great love for Los Angeles and living in such great LA communities. We also talked about what it takes to really become a successful actor, growing up in Georgia, moving to LA, working on Django and working with Quentin Tarantino, as well as what it has been like to work with Greg Kinnear on his new show Rake.

Episode 19 - Leigh Whannell

In this new episode I talked with writer, actor and producer, Leigh Whannell. Leigh is best known for his work writing and acting in the Saw and Insidious films. 

I talked to Leigh about his new film "The Mule" that is premiering at SXSW on Sunday, March 9th.

Here is the synopsis for The Mule: It's 1983. A naive man with lethal narcotics hidden in his stomach is detained by Australian Federal Police. Alone and afraid, ‘the Mule’ makes a desperate choice; to defy his bodily functions and withhold the evidence...literally. And by doing so becomes a 'human time-bomb'; dragging cops, criminals and concerned family into his impossible escapade. Inspired by true events, THE MULE is directed by Angus Sampson and Tony Mahony, with a darkly comic screenplay by Sampson, Leigh Whannell (Saw, Insidious), and Jaime Browne. The film stars Hugo Weaving alongside Sampson and Whannell with an ensemble cast including Ewen Leslie, Geoff Morrell, Georgina Haig, Noni Hazlehurst and John Noble.

It was great to talk to Leigh about The Mule. Leigh and I also talk about the direction we see filmmaking going and how we see Cinema evolving in the future. 

Leigh also let's us in a a new film that he's working on, but you will have to listen to the episode to find out what that is.

Episode 18 - Oscar Edition with Jimmy Martin

This episode of On the Mic is a special Oscar edition! I sat down with President of the Utah Film Critics Association, Jimmy Martin. Jimmy is also a member of the GeekShow Podcast Panel, as well as one of the co-hosts of Big Movie Mouth-Off on Comcast. 

Jimmy and I went through all of the Oscar categories and made our winner picks. There was a lot that we agreed on, but a lot that we were totally opposite on. It was great to talk through all of the nominees and dig into the technical aspect of movie making. 

In case you're living under a rock and hadn't heard, Ellen DeGeneres is hosting this years Oscars! I am really excited for Ellen to be hosting this year! I absolutely love Ellen and know she is going to kill it! 

I was really bummed to not be out in LA this weekend for all of the Oscar festivities. It's always such a great time and I'm really missing LA right now, but I can't wait to be back in the next few months.
