Episode 36 - Jacob Leigh

On todays episode of On the Mic I talked with comedian, Jacob Leigh.

Some of you may remember Jacob as a guest on a show I use to co-host called My House on The Moon. It has been a few years since Jacob recorded that episode and I knew it was time to sit down with him again and see what's new since we last talked.

Jacob and I talked about Ninja Turtles, being day drunk at Sundance, performing stand up, cutting his beard, learning from majors comedians and so much more. 

Recently Jacob found out his performance on The Comedy Time Show was now available for all of you to watch on Hulu. Make sure to check it out, especially if you've never had a chance to see Jacob perform.

Episode 35 - Clawson

On this new episode of On the Mic I sat down with rap artist, Clawson.

I first got to know Clawson (aka Casey Clawson) almost two years ago. After making a mix tape a few years back, Clawson is set to release his new album, "Old Soul", this Friday, April 10th.

On this episode Casey and I talked about how he started writing rap, what inspires him to write, going through rehab and overcoming addiction, his message and so much more. The intro to this episode includes Clawson's new song, "Last Stand" featuring Atheist. 

In September I had the pleasure of Directing and Producing a music video for Clawson for his first single, "Learn Truth", that was nominated for Best Music Video at the Online Film Awards in LA, New York and Salt Lake City. Check it out on YouTube!

It's that time of year again! The Oscars are finally here. It's time for our third annual Oscar Picks Show. 

Jimmy Martin from Geek Show Podcast, Big Movie Mouth-Off, and the President of the Utah Film Critics joined us once again this year to make our picks. It's always great to have Jimmy on the show and be able to talk film and awards. My Producing partner with Topflight Pictures, Austin Grant, also joined us on this episode to make his picks.

The first episode of 2015 is here! On today's episode I talk with one of my personal filmmaking idols, Edward James Olmos!

 

Many of you know Edward James Olmos from his Oscar nominated role as Jamie Escalante in 'Stand and Deliver', as well as his Golden Globe and Emmy winning role in Miami Vice, as well as roles Battlestar Galactica, Dexter and so many more. 

I talked with Edward about the new film 'Water &Power' that he Produced that is being released VOD on January 20th. Edward talked about the importance of the story behind 'Water & Power', and why they chose to make this movie available VOD. 

Edward and I also talked about his role in 'Stand and Deliver', the power of cinema, producing films, 'Dexter' and so much more. It was an honor to have Edward on the show and learn more about his career and the behind the scenes of 'Water & Power'

Episode 31 - Steve-O

On today's episode I talked with the hilarious comedian and stuntman, Steve-O!

Steve-O is best known for his work on the hit MTV show, Jackass. Since Steve-O's time on Jackass, Wildboyz, and the Jackass Movies, Steve-O has spent a lot of time touring the country and focusing on stand up comedy. Steve-O is performing 6 shows this week at WiseGuys Comedy in Salt Lake City. Steve-O will be in town November 6-9. Don't miss him, Salt Lake!

I talked with Steve-O about becoming a new home owner, his sobriety, taking on stand up comedy, performing stunts and so much more! Steve-O also talked about a new video they were shooting that day where we would find out how much duct tape it would take to hang Steve-O on a wall. 

Little did I know Steve-O wrote a book a few years back. This book is Steve-O's memoir of being a stuntman and his career. Steve-O and I didn't get a chance to talk about his book, but I bought it right away and I suggest that you do as well!

I've had the opportunity to meet a lot of great people in the industry and Steve-O is one the the kindest to talk with. It was great to see where his career is at and what is coming up next. Episode 30 - New Found Glory

In this new episode of On the Mic Podcast I talked with New Found Glory frontman Jordan Pundik.

New Found Glory recently released their new album "Resurrection" on October 7th, and are also currently headlining the Glamour Kills Tour. I talked with Jordan about the new album, watching their fan base grow, being a band for almost 20 years, what keeps the synergy of the band and so much more. 

I realized while prepping for this interview that I have been listening to New Found Glory for 15 years. Not very many things make me feel old, but this definitely made me feel old. For half of my life I have been listening to New Found Glory. I've had the chance to meet the guys several times and they have always been one of the kindest bands to their fans.

I have been a fan of Kurt's stand up for a few years now and was thriller to have him on the show. 

I talked with Kurt about his upcoming Comedy Central Pilot "Gettin' Some Strange with Kurt Braunohler", his current charity project Roustabout that is helping raise money to bring goats and chickens to a village in Africa, Kurt's appearance on "Getting Doug With High", voicing characters on "Bob's Burgers" and so much more! 

Kurt recently jet skied from Chicago to New Orleans to help raise money for Roustabout.

Episode 26 - Richie T. Steadman

In this new episode of the podcast I talked with a hilarious man of many titles, Richie T. Steadman.

Richie is best known for his work as the Executive Producer of Radio From Hell in Salt Lake City. Richie is also the Founder of the Salt Lake Comedy Festival, Host of the new web show "Let's Get Real", Host of Meet the Bands Podcast, and the Cultural Hall Podcast. Aside from all of those jobs, Richie has also been my boss at Radio From Hell for the last several months. 

Richie and I always have great time around the studio and on location, so I figured it was time that we turned the mic's on and captured some of it. Richie and I talked a lot about how he started the Salt Lake Comedy Festival, his comedy background, flu toast, and so much more!
